Today Pakistan is asking for its youth and middle class to come out and help their country against the present corrupt system. Youth and students can tranform this country into a liberal, democratic and modern country.

Energy Policy

Energy Features. Lack of energy and improper use of available energy are the main problems we facing today. Clear and effective energy policy will be announced and implemented without any political hindrance. Salient features of the policy will be:
·         Minimum reliance on imported energy.
·         Judicious use of existing resources with correct prioritization.
·         Exploration of new energy reserves on emergency basis.
·         Building of new dams and power projects.
Practical Steps. Energy revolution will be realized using short, medium and long term measures. Steps will be taken to make our beautiful land fully energy independent. We aim not only to be self reliant in energy needs but also be importing electricity and gas to regional friends.
·      Petroleum import will be reduced to minimum immediately to reduce the trade deficit and minimize external reliance. Essential petroleum needs will be fulfilled by local production.

·      We have 5th largest coal reserves in the world yet only less than 1% of our electricity produced is from coal. We have enough coal to produced 50000MW for next 500 years. Due to this reason, all petroleum based electricity generators and industry will be converted to coal.
·      Construction work of 100 small hydroelectric dams of 50 – 100MW will be initiated as soon as possible. NGOs and friendly countries will be invited to join and finance the projects.

·      At least 10 big water reservoirs will be built on major rivers. Water irrigation network will also be widened to provide water to the farm lands across the country to bring a green revolution across the country. This will help our increased cultivated lands as a result of land reforms.
·      Coal reserves electricity production projects will be started forthwith. Instead of big plants, several smaller plants will used for quick addition to national grid. Chinese, ME and Iranian companies will be given contracts on war footings.

·      Heavy investment will be invited through quick and transparent bidding process in the discovery projects for new oil, gas and coal reserves.

  1. Pakistan has huge potential for fossil as well as water energy. There is no doubt. I wonder your present government knows the energy shortage but has hardly taken emergency based steps.
Why not to ban air conditioners all together.
Why not to make dams as son as possible.
I suggest building cities near the Iran border, water, gas and elctricity will be available on cheaper rates from Irna. Develop industril cities there and export the products using Gwadar port. Balochistan will develop into a huge Dubai in Pakistan.

  3. I read, Pakistan has enough coal to produce 50000MegaWatts for next 500 years. Use coal as they are using in USA and China. Big dams including KALABAGH dam should also be built. We require both electricty and water.
